A Letter to our readers

Dearest readers,

Our cups are overflowing with gratitude for all of the love and support that has been shown to us in the first year of The Lottura Post. We have learned and changed much over the past 12 issues — as individual persons, as a business, and also in the composition of the newspaper itself. Our team has been inspired and challenged to bring the best of ourselves to The Post, and with that the caliber and breadth of our content has increased, as well as the skill and numbers of our writing staff. We are so proud and fulfilled in placing a newspaper publication into your hands, but as we reflect on how things have shifted, we have found ourselves putting significantly more time into each issue, yet have not adjusted our prices accordingly.

In addition, the USPS increased postage rates as of July 2026. This has a significant impact on our operation as a large portion of our revenue goes towards postage costs. If you have followed along on our podcast, The Lottura Podcast, you’ll know that we have transparently discussed the topic of pricing. There are seven incredibly hardworking ladies on our team, an additional eight individuals who regularly contribute their writing and art, and even more guest writers and artists who have given of their time, and who deserve to be adequately paid.

I think I can fairly say that each and every individual involved in this newspaper is not in it to “make it big,” but rather to bring beauty into the world, and purpose and creative drive into their personal lives. It’s not about the money, but we also have to make conscious and intentional decisions that will bring longevity to this publication. There is immense value in the time and efforts put forth by our team, and as we go into year two, it is of utmost importance that we see that reflected in being able to pay fairly and consistently for many years to come.

With that being said, on September 1, 2026, all of our prices will be increasing.

  • Yearly subscriptions made prior to September 1, 2026 will lock in their rate for the year.
  • All monthly subscription rates will automatically increase after September 1, 2026.
  • For yearly subscriptions that were purchased prior to September 1, 2026, we will offer a one-time 15% discount for renewals upon request as a thank you for your support in our founding year.

We also want to make an additional note to bring you security as the reader, that with this price increase, our aim is to not raise our prices again. Part of this price increase will also include a protective cover on all papers mailed.

To each and every individual who has supported this newspaper thus far, thank you. We hope we can continue to fill your mailboxes with joy and depth for years to come.

With gratitude,

Kristine and The Lottura Team
